Volleyball Trials No.2

Since you’ve have started reading what I’ve written, keep reading, because today I’ll be writing about my one and only second favourite sport... “VOLLEYBALL!”  Well it’s actually about Volleyball, it’s about Volleyball trials, I went to sign up for Volleyball and it was trials.

For me, to be honest I don’t really know how I feel because, I’m moving to another country which is Australia which is obvious for some of you who I told. So, hopefully I’ll have heaps of time to play Volleyball and then go to Aussie.

My biggest hope about this is that I have heaps of time to play my second favourite sport, while my parents are buying a ticket for my  flight to Australia. I’ll be crossing my fingers while praying so that I could play Volleyball.

I would like to give a big thank you to my true hilarious friend David for editing my writing, making sure that it makes sense. Also goodbye to by cherished beautiful friends, Jasmine Tui, Cael, Tyla, David, Ngametua, Brooke, Tule, Millenny and Andrea. :)

Trialling out for Volleyball

Since you’ve have started reading what I’ve written, keep reading, because today I’ll be writing about my one and only second favourite sport... “VOLLEYBALL!”  Well it’s not actually about playing Volleyball, it’s about Volleyball trials, I went to sign up for Volleyball and it was trials.

My biggest hope about this is that I have heaps of time to play my second favourite sport. While my parents are buying a ticket for my flight to Australia. I’ll be hoping and praying and crossing my fingers so that I don’t go before the Volleyball game.

I would like to thank David for editing my writing, making sure that it makes sense and also making sure that I follow my writing goal.

Smoking Kills Lives (Take 2)

From now and then, I’ll be writing about Smoking Kills Lives. Now the reason why I’m writing about this is because you can, you know die and also because Dad recently quit smoking.

The dangers of smoking includes disease of your heart, lungs and brain. Smoking increases the chances of getting these virus and smoking may cause disease. Such as lung cancer, heart disorder and emphysema. Your chances of getting these disorder is greater. Nothing about this dirty habit that is healthy for you!

Emphysema is a condition in which the air sacs of lungs are damaged and enlarged, causing breathlessness.  When you are smoking constantly, it will flow through your body and form a disease called cancer. How do you think cancer is made? Well, when you get cancer, it over takes your cells and make new ones that affect your body. This will then spread and also cause other virus. You also can get heart disease and this is one of the serious virus that may cause death.

Each day, 6,000 children under 18 years of age smoke their first cigarette. How is this situation having to inhale a smoke and knowing the possibility of their future? Now I have shown you the dangers of smoking and the likelihood of how you could get disease. So for those people who haven’t started this poor life choice, don’t even think about having a go.

Smoking Kills Lives

From now and then, I’ll be writing about Smoking Kills Lives. Now the reason why I’m writing about this is because recently, you can... You know, die and because my dad quit smoking.

The dangers of smoking includes diseases of your heart, lungs and brain. Smoking increases the chances of getting these disease, smoking may cause disease such as lung cancer, heart disease and emphysema. Your chances of getting these disease is greater. Smoking is very bad for you and it's also not good for your health.

Emphysema is a condition in which the air sacs of lungs are damaged and enlarged, causing breathlessness.  When you are smoking constantly, it will flow through your body and form a disease called cancer. How do you think cancer is mad?? Well, when you get cancer, it over takes your cells and make new ones that affect your body. This will then spread and also cause other disease. You also can get heart disease and this is one of the serious disease that may cause death.

Each day 3,000 children smoke their first cigarette, this is a very intense situation having the risk to inhale a smoke and knowing the possibility to your future. Now I have shown you the dangers in smoking and the likelihood on how you could get disease. So for those people who have started smoking well rethink and “STOP” well that was my advice for today.

Hopefully I’ll see the feedback.

My Friends (Take 2)

Hello and welcome to the day that  I’ll be telling you about my friends. The reason why, I’m writing about my friends is because I’m going to miss them. Friends and I mean my friends are special to me, to be honest, I don't have any clue.

My friends that I play with and that I sometimes hang out with are Jasmine, David, Cael, Tule, Millenny, Brooke, Tyla and Andrea. My friends are like my brother and sisters. I like it when they treat me with respect, but not only that, they are always there to help me when I’m in trouble.

The things that I like about my friends is that, they sometimes encourage me and help me when it’s an emergency. I don’t mean like a car accident, I mean like if I really need help for my school work then I’ll ask for help. So I would love to say a big thanks to my friends for doing not everything but something for me. It really appreciates me.

To my unique and wonderful, cherished friends, I am going to miss you heaps. I will never forget the times we spent together. Be good and also I’ll tell Mr. Barks how things are going. Hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to chat to you guys when you are available online. "Goodbye my friends, hopefully I'll come and visit you."

A big thanks to David for proof reading my writing, making sure that it makes sense. Thank you for making sure that I’ve followed my goal, which was... To use direct speech and interesting vocabulary in my writing.

The things that I like about my friends is that, they sometimes encourage me and they help me when it’s an emergency. I don’t mean like I had a car accident, I mean like if I really need help for my school work. So, are big thanks to my friends for doing not everything but something for me. Record... Almost

I’ve always wanted to win a prize but it’s just that my goal doesn’t work when I say so. But, I figure out how I might win that special prize so here’s my thinking and I mean my goal. My goal is to push myself to work smart not necessarily hard and just concentrate on my own specific work that Mr. Barks has assigned to me. So that’s my goal.

“Eyes on Me,” says Mr.Barks. As he’s talking, he is telling us about how our assignments are going. I cross my fingers and listen to see if I’m still in the runners up. “Yes, oh yeah oh ha", I said, celebrating with excitement, because I’ve completed my XtraMath, Readingeggs which is the Comprehension Gym, Stadium and the Library. While he’s carrying on I feel “Stink,” because I haven’t finished the Freestyle Usage. So, I suddenly say “Oh man,” I was at least an inch to be winning, breakfast prize.

My goal for next is to find an independant spot for me to get all my assigned task done for the week. Also make sure that my friends don’t interrupt me or else, I’ll just say “Be quiet.” So fingers cross that next time when something like this happens, I have to do my own independent work during class and manage my time so that I don't have to be on detention. So, finger crossed.

Tiring "Beep" Test

My Heart is Pumping, and I’m shaking which makes me get the feeling that I’m really really... to say the least nervous about the Beep Test. The reason I’m feeling all shaky and all that is because, the Beep Test can be really tiring and more challenging. After getting ready, I'm starting to feel more pressure on me which makes me feel really uncertain.

When I suddenly heard the “BEEP” sound, I started running and I felt like I was staring off a bit slow and running to beat Jasmine who was trying to race me to the other side of the court, suddenly she bumped me into the person next to me. Starting the Beep Test made everyone in Room 18 look very uncomfortable.

While the other students trying to improve, I dropped out, because I felt puffed out and my calves were burning. When I dropped out on level 3, I was pretty disappointed because my goal was to pass level 5, ah well. I hope next year my class and I get the opportunity to do the Beep Test again. So a big thanks to Miss Vaafusuaga for letting us do the Beep Test.

The things that I liked about the tiring beep test is that, it’s really challenging because I “LOVE” playing sports that are tiring and heaps more challenging and it can be fun as well.

London Ceremony

The London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony took place at 9pm on 27 July 2012. The Olympic games were opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll. The ceremony that was shown on television was pretty much awesome, and I "LOVED" it.

The things that I liked about the Ceremony, is that, it looked like their was party going on but “No.” No offence but I think that the opening ceremony was better than Queens birthday. “Sorry your Majesty,” just to be honest.

The thing that I can’t wait to see in the olympic games is... “BADMINTON!” The reason I can’t wait to watch the Badminton players play is because Badminton is a favourite sport of mine and I just love watching and playing Badminton. Also another thing that I can’t wait to see is Tennis players play, because again it’s a favourite sport of mine and I just “LOVE” Tennis.

Thanks to Tui for editing and checking if my writing makes sense, also thank you for checking my spelling, putting in interesting vocab and capital letters.

Olympic Is Our Motto

This term because of the Olympics, our topic is “Go For Gold!” Monday morning, Immersion Assembly was lots of fun with the teachers putting on a great show, to inspire and motivate the students. The movies and plays were informative and fun. Mrs George showed a filmed interview she did with two New Zealand Olympians, Dick Quax and Yvette Corlett who both gave the children inspirational messages about how they achieved the olympic medals. To succeed, Champions need to have the 3 D’s... Dedication, Determination and Desire.

The performance that were produced by the staff, really made me laugh alot, especially my most favourite one, team 5. The reason why team 5’s item was my most likes was because, it looked funny it and it looked interesting. Last of all I would like to give a thank you to the teachers for producing this to the school.

The things that I really looking forward to do is, creating more stuff, learn about the Olympics that will be held in london. I hope that our class gets the opportunity to practise how to do olympic games.

Participating in a few sports

This term, I’ll be thinking about participating in a few sports. The reason why I’m writing this to you is because, I’m looking forward to be joining in a few sports. I want to be fit and want to learn more about the sports that I've joined in.

The sport that I’m going to join in but the one thing is... Netball, Tennis, Volleyball, but the one sport that I will be joining in mostly is BASKETBALL!. The reason why I wanted to participate in basketball is because, it’s not really my type and I just want to see if I’m really good at it, so I’ll give it go.

Generally, I join in a sport that is not my type, because I just want to see if I’m really good at it and just wanting to see if I made it in. Sometimes when I participate in a sport that I really wasn't sure of, I follow what other people are doing. This reminds me for the first time of playing Netball. When I first played netball, I didn't know what to do, so I just followed what other people were doing.

Thanks to Tyler for reading my work and making sure that it makes sense. Thanks for telling me to go on and on to check if it makes sense before sharing it to someone. I also wanted to thank her for making sure that my spelling, capitals and full stops are in the right place.

The Inspiring Artwork

The Campfire
This artwork was inspired by the beautiful Oscar Claude Monet. The reason why I used Monet’s style in my artwork was because, his style had small brush strokes and beautiful bright colours. Also his paintings caught my attention and so I just used what he used. I think that my artwork will look like my favourite picture that I got offline, to me Oscar Claude Monet is the best artist that I’ve seen so far.

Life Time in Term 2

This term so far, I’ve had the opportunity to talk to people, introduce myself and being friends to people that I don’t know. I think that this term was better than last term. This term has been the best term “EVER”

The things that I’ve learned so far this term was, learning how to read and write, teach people how Cooperate with others and learn good stuff from them. In class, I think that I’ve learned pretty much something, like solving problems with people who are having a difficult time of doing something, helping them think what’s terrific for them.

I wonder what I’ll achieve next term in my writing, reading and maths. Here are my goals that I will want to achieve for next term. My goals are to listen to my teacher, do what he has told me to do, put my eyes on him when he says, “Eyes on me” and then we put our eyes on him without saying it.

The things that I like about this term is that, the class and I can play sports at Tamaki College, watch Pepa which is kind of like glee.

Favourite game of Netball

http://netballnutters.wikispaces.com/file/view/court%5B1%5D.gif/245342227/572x297/court%5B1%5D.gif
Hello and welcome to my blog. The reason why I’m writing this to you is because, I’m going to tell you about netball why would you want to read about netball well... I play netball. I play netball in Glen Innes for my school, at Morrin Road. I can play really well. Some day I get all the goals in and sometimes...Well lets just say  I can get really really tired and don’t play as good as I want.

The reason why I participated in netball was because, netball is my favourite sport and I just love playing netball. I LOVE netball and so will you, if you join in. I’m glad that I’m in “NETBALL!”.

My thoughts about netball is that it’s an awesome sport for everyone to play. This sport keeps us fit and strong. The rules of this game is pretty much simple. Like this rule number 1, no running with the ball while holding. Rule number 2, don’t bouncing the ball if you’re running after it before the ref blow the whistle and that’s when it’s the other team’s ball.

My position for every netball game is GS, GA. These position are  like GS, which means Goal shooter is an attacker and the position where somebody is shooting. Goal Attack is another position where someone is shooting but not inside the semicircle. They’re standing behind the line with their defender. I feel really happy about my position and thanks to my coach Timi.

My Favourite Place in and around the World

Our class, Room 18, has been given the opportunity to find out what our favourite place is. For some students in my class, they were struggling to find out what their special place was. I think that, this place is one of my most favourite place around the whole world, it’s the “BEACH!”

The reason why I chose this picture was because, one of the reasons, I can campfire with my family and friends on the sand, swim in the sea and last, just have a sleep.  I love camping on a beautiful warm day at the beach. Out of all the places in the world, I think that the beach is the best. The beach can be relaxing too.

The things that I like about my picture is, I can spend time with my friends and my family and have alot of enjoyable time together. I love hanging out in the beach.

Thanks to Tyler and Jasmine for editing my writing for this week and just checking if my writing makes sense. You sure have been going over and over are few times on my writing and telling me where I need to put those punctuation and grammar in the right place. Thanks alot.

Reflective Writing T2

The Tale of Despereaux!

This year for term 2, our class has been given a novel to study and to try to read difficult and extended text. For my reading group, The Gates, the novel that we’re reading is called “The Tale of Despereaux.” “Can you guess what Despereaux means? Well if not, it can mean desperate or despair. Also it’s a french word.

This novel is about a little tiny mouse, who has got huge crazy ears. At first, this mouse who is named Despereaux, ran to a hole and from there, he looked out to see a Princess named Princess Pea. Despereaux was reading a story, and when he stopped at a sentence, that caught his attention, he was deeply falling in love with the Princess that he saw. When Princess Pea saw Despereaux and as she picked up his handkerchief  she was looking at him directly into his soul.

For me, my feelings about reading my own group novel, is that it challenges us to think about the great vocabulary that we’re reading. Also it gives us the chance to wonder things as we read, for me it was time to vote, I would honestly give it a thumbs up.

What I’m looking forward to continue reading on this journey, is having to read other novels that can caught my attention and that has got interesting vocabulary for me to use in my writing. I think that this novel is the definitely is the best. For some reasons that I think that this novel is the best is because it’s sounds funny and it’s got great vocabulary.

My thoughts about this story, is that I think I’ll certainly give it a thumbs up. I hope that our class  comes into a possession to get the opportunity to read more novels after because I really love reading stories.

If you are connecting to this story, why not reading it. This story is awesome and trust me, you will LOVE  IT ! I hope that you have had the opportunity to read my story about “The Tale of Despereaux”
Please give me some feedback about my writing that I wrote. (Likes or Dislikes)

My Week6 Writing Post

Do you love playing Tennis or a you a fan of Tennis? Well if you are, it sure is a pretty basic sport to get started and all you will need these equipment. Racquet along with a can of ball. As you’ll know that tennis is a game played indoors or outdoors by two players (singles) or four players (doubles) on a level court. To learn how to play, these are some of the strategies that you will learn. The first technique is How to score, Forehand, Serving and Backhanding (one and two handed).

Tennis can be a very tiring sport to play because you will have to run maybe a little bit of slipping on the court. For some of you who do not know where tennis is from, it’s actually from the Great Britains. The Great Britains is an island lying off the Western Coast of Europe in the United Kingdom.

Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society at all ages. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racquet, including people in wheelchairs. If you did not know that people in wheelchairs could play tennis and you’re like “What!”, that’s impossible, well it’s the truth, very well people in wheelchairs can play tennis like the “pros”

The tennis court is a flat, rectangular surface usually made of clay or grass with a net that is 3 ft 6 in. The rules of the game are very simple although that the game itself is not. The players stand on opposite sides of the court. One is the server the other is the receiver. A coin toss is generally used to decide who will be the server and who will be the receiver. The server begins with the ball while the receiver is prepared to hit the ball. the server must stand behind the baseline on the deuce court and can not serve the ball until their opponent is ready.

This is a post that Ngametua, David and I are working on, just to make my writing interesting.
Sometimes I would always remember to indent my writing, make sure that the capital letters and full stops are in the right place.

Henri Matisse's Art Work

Henri Matisse was one of my favourite artist and in fact he was  a famous artist in France and also he’s french. He was born in France 31st December in 1869 and died in 1954 by an heart attack when he was 84 yrs of age. He had three kids, a daughter and 2 sons. Henri Matisse was  a skilled worker who draws plans of buildings or machines, print-maker, and sculptor, but is known mostly as a painter.

Also would collect scorpions, his favourite bird which is a parrot and hated porridge. He really loved collies having a long pointing nose and thick long hair. His favourite food was bangers and mash and also he loved playing tennis when he was a small kid and has siblings, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

I really love the fact that when he’s drawing or painting, he uses the bright colours which I really love using and tries to make them real.

Familiar work to Henri Matisse

Wow, I never thought that Mrs Langitupu’s class would be so wonderful to join in because the most thing that I’ve learnt was blending and making small strokes about Henri Matisse’s work. The most thing that I liked about Henri Matisse’s work was the beautiful bright colours that he used and mostly I looked at the 3 primary colours that he often used in his work. The main colours were red that makes you angry, blue that makes you feel so sad and last of all... yellow that can make everybody happy. This picture that I drew was one of my favourite because it actually caught my attention about the colors and to me it looks interesting. To me I think that my artwork looks really familiar to what Henri Matisse has done.

Artist of Art

Every term, we would always learn a Topic. For this term it’s all got to do with Art. Art is one of my favourite subjects but the thing is ... What is Art? Well, art can have some different kinds of styles from different artists. This style of art is called Picasso. Picasso looks at people from different perspective and Oscar Claude Monet paints with small strokes to make it look more realistic. Mostly I believe that every artists have a story behind their painting. These three primary colours can tell you a story, so here it goes. Red means that you are angry, Blue can mean that you're sad and yellow means that you’re happy and you are wanting to dance. Next time you see an art piece look at the different colours that the artist used, but mostly look at the 3 primary colors to see how they feel.
